Our national and international success is based on our 20 years Know-How in producing 2-stroke engines. The 34 years of industrial experience of our design engineer had been realized in our new range of engines representing the latest state of the art of 2-stroke technology.
Having this in mind we had to develop a new generation of mufflers considering the higher degree of saturation and process of combustion efficiency.

3W has developed these mufflers - now we are able to introduce ourselves as a supplier for complete solutions of 2-stroke-power systems for airplane models.

    the third generation of our ignition is in the field. these processor controlled systems have a programmable ignition timing which was specially optimised for 3W engines. technical datas of ignition:
    voltage-range: 4.8V - 7.0V
    operating Voltage: 6.0Volt
    standard feature: sensor output signal for tach-meter
    temperature range: from -104 and +104 degree F

  • Finishing the design of five cylinder radial engine 3W-256STR for-stroke
    Introduction of four cylinder opposed 3W-684iB4 with 41.74 cu.in. as well as the two cylinder opposed 3W-342iB2. Both are two-stroke engines

  • in the meantime we produce engines between 1.46 and 41.74 cu.in. our range of engines contains twenty two different cylinder capacities in forty seven different variations.
    3W is the only model engine manufacturer producing four and six cyl. opposed since 18 years.

many other manufacturers tried to copy our one and two cyl engines as well as our ignition systems. these plagiarisms are based on the technology of our 3W-120B2 or 3W-80B2 which were developed in 1988 and 1986. our current engine range is generations away from this old technology and our development lab optimises engine power in a continuous process.


legend of airplane-models

1998
  • 3W sets up his own airplane-model series. These models are exclusively produced for 3W and are developed in co-operation with the worlds best pilots.
    The design of these airplane models are influenced by the expert knowledge of P. Weinhold in building over five hundred models.
    The last kick was given to the models by Wolfgang and Roland Matt, two international well respected model pilots.
2004
  • meantime we produce sixteen different airplane-models in twenty one different wingspans between 78.74 and 153.54 inch.
    specially for the pilots with the wish of a weight-optimized plane we offer many of our models in the super light competition version. these airplane-models are mainly build in honeycomb sandwich technology
